The Bakery
6 Holmesdale Street, Marrickille

Completed
5 Dwellings
Located on the doorstep of Henson Park, The Bakery is a new standard in small scale urban infill development in Marrickville which sees the removal of a highly uncharacteristic industrial building from what is predominantly a low density residential precinct. The development replaces an old metal workshop and foundry which occupied the site for over 70 years with 5 sensitively designed terrace houses, more befitting this inner-western Sydney address.
The development sets unique design standards for the local market with careful attention given to the size, layout and level of amenity provided by each dwelling. Despite the density of the scheme and proximity of each dwelling, the new homes are private and well insulated from background aircraft noise common in Marrickville.
Each home enjoys two (2) secluded courtyards at ground level with another key feature of the design being the internalised courtyards located at the centre of each home. Large areas of glazing to these courtyards optimise natural daylighting and ventilation of the dwellings improving the overall liveability of the development. Construction of the development commenced in March 2012 and was completed in June 2014. The high design and construction quality of the development resulted in actual sales for the dwellings exceeding original expectations
